The 2013 IL 1040 form is a tax document published by the Illinois Department of Revenue for the purpose of reporting and calculating Illinois state income tax. The 2013 form IL 1040 is filed by Illinois tax payers by the tax due date in April 2014.
How to use the 2013 IL 1040 form
The 2013 IL 1040 form is used by Illinois tax payers to calculate their Illinois income tax. The tax calculation on the IL 1040 starts off of the federal tax return calculation. After calculating the adjusted gross income in the federal 1040 income tax return (see the interactive federal tax calculator), the figure from the line 37 of the federal 1040 is inputed into the 2013 IL 1040 on line 1. In other words, you need to complete the first page of the federal 1040 to complete the IL 1040 form.
Where can I get the 2013 form IL 1040
The 2013 IL 1040 form can be obtained from the Illinois Department of Revenue in the form of a fillable (fill-in) PDF document. This document can be filled out directly in your computer and saved as well. The IL 1040 2013 form will be available in the second half of 2013.
When to file IL 1040 2013 form
Many people get confused when to use and file the 2013 form. The 2013 IL 1040 form is used for calculating tax on the income earned in 2013. Most Illinois tax payers will use the 2013 form IL 1040 in April of 2014. The 2013 IL 1040 form should not be submitted in April 2013.

What should I attach to the 2013 IL 1040
After completing, dating, and signing the 2013 form IL 1040, you might need to attach a number of documents to it. Using a paper clip or a stapler, attach your check, your W2 forms, IL 1040 schedules, 1099-R, 1099-G, and a copy of your federal tax return. The IL 1040 schedules should be attached in the order of the "IL Attachment No.", see the top right corner of IL 1040 schedules.
