Title: How to answer the question Why you left your last job? Post by: indian on December 10, 2008, 11:20:53 pm I was fired from my job due to downsizing as a result of the economic recession. Luckily, I have an invitation for an interview for next week.
How do I handle the question "Why have you left your recent employment"? Is it ok to tell them I was fired? Won't that automatically discriminate me? Who would want to fire someone who got fired.. I really do not know how to address this at the interview. Plz, help. Title: Re: How to answer the question Why you left your last job? Post by: pawel on December 23, 2008, 09:33:33 pm Advice one: Always be honest, never lie.
Advice two: You can say you were let go because of downsizing. There are many smart people unemployed perhaps just because they were in the wrong industry at the wrong time (i.e. automobiles). No worry. Title: How to answer the question Why you left your last job Post by: Loogaraempott on December 20, 2009, 12:36:04 am First, it is wise to have a new job secured, and then quit the old job. You can quit at any time, just give the two weeks notice (8 weeks in Europe).

I told the truth, they understood, they said they know it happens and that they had to do some downsizing too. I got the job!! Thanks everyone one more time.
