Title: Waiting for status , can I go to the UK ? Post by: Cocoroko on December 25, 2017, 07:27:46 pm I have been recently detained at the border in Switzerland. I overstayed 6-days and told me I will get a fine and may be issued a banned from entering Europe/Schengen states. Now back In Canada and waiting for this letter. Can I go to the UK tho if issued a banned from entering Schengen zone ?

It would be unusual if you were asked to pay fine in a letter sent to you. Fines are usually imposed at the border control. The talk from the border officer about fine and a ban could have been just a form of verbal warning.
